Another Japanese playground- this particular park is lovely, except for that 1 slide. Pictures really do nothing to convey how steep that 1 slide is. Both kids climbed to the top, which I thought nothing of because it never occurred to me that they might actually go down the slide. Until Isla just up and went down it. She got rug burns on her elbows (see picture) from a SLIDE! I started questioning my qualifications as their mother. Elliot didn’t believe me, so he went back with the kids a few days later. At that time, according to him, a group of Japanese preschoolers were there, aged maybe 3 to 4. 1 teacher positioned herself at the top of the slide, with another at the bottom. The kids all lined up and the top teacher proceeded to hurl them, 1 at a time, down the slide. I felt a lot better after hearing that. Wait. Anyway, aside from the slide, Isla decided this park has the best wild flowers in all of Okinawa.
Another children’s musical, Peter Pan- like last year’s Aristocats, this was another great little production. Pictured- Nana, Tinkerbell, Wendy.
Another shaving cream bath- and quite possibly the last. The kids don’t bathe together anymore (too much drama), so having them together again in 1 tub seemed very, very cramped. And very, very messy. And I’m very, very tired of cleaning up messes. And so a shaving cream bath, which I initiated, doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me anymore. They had fun, at least.
